Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Wakefield Full-Time | Across Multiple Sites | Driver Essential Leader Education are recruiting an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across multiple sites within a specialist school in Wakefield. Due to the nature of this role, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as you will be required to travel between school sites during the working week. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HLTA looking for a varied and rewarding role within a supportive SEND environment. The Role You will work across different sites within the school’s provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, which may include: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Communication and interaction difficulties Your responsibilities will include: Leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the teacher Delivering pre-planned lessons and interventions Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis Adapting resources to meet individual needs Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing Working collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leaders across sites This role requires flexibility, confidence in leading learning, and the ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff across different provisions.
