The appointment is subject to a £2,000 Welcome Payment.
The payment will be made in two instalments (50% upon commencement in post and 50% after the completion of a successful 6 month probation period). A two year retention clause is applicable to the payment. The payment is not available to employees who already work for the Council.
A grant may be available via our Relocation Assistance Scheme.
The delivery of key housing and employment sites is a top priority for the Derbyshire Dales. So we’ve created a new Regeneration and Place Team to drive investment in strategic sites.
The Derbyshire Dales has a wealth of stunning landscapes, beautiful market towns, picturesque villages, flourishing communities, innovative businesses historic buildings, over 1325 are listed buildings; conservation areas; archaeological sites and monuments plus historic parks and gardens – ours is truly a special place to work and live.
As Senior Regeneration Officer you will play a key role in the development and implementation of regeneration schemes. Accelerating the delivery of stalled sites is a priority, so we’ve created a fund to carry out feasibility studies, site investigations, options appraisals and masterplans to help bring these forward in partnership with private landowners.
This role is broad and you’ll be involved in stakeholder consultation, partnership development, master-planning, preparing external funding bids, procurement, contract management and project implementation.
We have ambitious proposals for Ashbourne town centre – Ashbourne Reborn funded through the Government’s Levelling Up Fund – and regeneration projects in Matlock but we also need to develop other ‘shovel ready’ projects to access new external funding streams such as through the East Midlands Combined County Authority.
If you have at least three years’ experience of working on / implementing regeneration projects in a local authority context and meet the other essential requirements of the role then we want to hear from you.
