An opportunity has arisen for Anaesthetic ODPs & Registered Nurses to join a highly motivated multi disciplinary team. Our departments are focused on delivering patient centred care, with emphasis on quality, patient safety and staff engagement.
Theatres are building a dynamic multi-skilled workforce and this position would look favourably at flexibility into recovery and/or scrub areas and an internal rotation across our sites.
NHS Employees should ideally secure their manager's agreement for a secondment arrangement ideally prior to applying, as this will be a condition of any offer made. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis as It has been established to cover an employee on maternity leave and will end in 12 months or when the substantive postholder returns. Whilst this post is advertised on an acting / secondment basis there is the potential that this post may become permanent in the future.
To be eligible for this position you must be a registered nurse with a nationally recognised anaesthetic qualification or an Operating Department Practitioner. You will be enthusiastic, dynamic, motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This post involves a 24hr working pattern including weekends and night duty. We provide staff with training and development opportunities and actively encourage CPD.
We have numerous specialities at WWL the acute site providing a 24 hour emergency and obstetric service with speciality specific elective surgery such as ENT, laparoscopic, orthopaedic trauma, urology and gynaecology. Wrightington is our orthopaedic elective centre and Leigh our day surgery unit.

Key results from the job holder
The post holder must hold a nationally recognised anaesthetic qualification. Dual role into specialities of Recovery and Scrub will be an advantage.
