Children's residential support worker - East London - Permanent role.

Our client is a Children\'s residential home based in Forest Gate, Newham. This home provides a supportive and caring environment, and protects the welfare and well-being of children and young people between the ages of 11-18.
Your new role
Pay: £12.95 per hour (due to increase to £14.15 from 1 May 24). £24,242 Per Annum (due to increase to £26,488 from 1st May 24)
Days: 3 x 12-hour shifts, worked on a rota basis, either 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am – 36 hours per week.
Duties:
1. Improve the life chances of both males and females with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
2. Keep accurate written records.
3. Protect and safeguard children from harm both inside and outside the home environment.
4. Treat children with respect and dignity
5. Help to maintain a safe environment that complies with Health and Safety and other legal requirements.
6. Undertake domestic tasks such as shopping, food preparation, cooking, and cleaning.
7. Help children and YP adhere to appropriate behavioural expectations.
8. Ensure the home environment is appropriate and sensitive to the individual needs of children.
9. Support the YP and children transition to independence from children’s home.
What you\'ll need to succeed
10. Previous experience of working with children or young people suffering from challenging behaviour or EBD in children’s residential or a similar setting – youth work, PRU, youth justice etc.
11. Flexible availability to work any 3 days of the week.
