Job Description:
Job Purpose
To deliver an excellent student experience through teaching and assessment; to undertake research and scholarship in a priority area within electrical and electronics engineering; to contribute to management and administration; to play a leadership role in your areas of academic and professional expertise. The teaching responsibilities of this post will be delivered from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) campuses and will require you to live and work overseas in Chengdu and/or Lingshui Li’an, China, for the equivalent of at least one teaching semester per year (typically 18 - 20 weeks).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop, lead and sustain personal and group research aligned appropriately with the teaching and the School/College/University.
2. Contribute to the planning, organisation and delivery of high-quality teaching, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate/postgraduate programmes within the Subject/School.
3. Enhance your research profile, reputation and esteem through: establishing and sustaining a track record of independent and joint publications of international quality in high-quality refereed journals, generating research impact in terms of economic/societal benefit; presentation at international and national conferences and seminars; identification of potential funding sources and development of proposals; developing collaborations with colleagues and external partners; contributing to team activities.
4. Contribute to curriculum development ensuring a research-led approach to student learning.
5. Manage academic administrative activities, including feedback on assessments and pastoral support.
6. Contribute to management and organisational duties as assigned.
7. Engage in personal and professional development.
8. Contribute to the University's international profile in line with its Strategic Plan.

* PhD or equivalent in a related discipline with a growing reputation for scholarship.
* Developing national/international reputation in a matching or enhancing field.
* Membership of a relevant professional body or commitment to achieve professional status within two years.
