CARDIOLOGIST WITH AN INTEREST IN COMMUNITY CARDIOLOGY
Join to apply for the CARDIOLOGIST WITH AN INTEREST IN COMMUNITY CARDIOLOGY role at IPC Asia Pacific. This post is for an enthusiastic, dynamic clinician who will be based at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (LHCH) and focused on developing and delivering a community-based cardiovascular diagnostic and assessment service for Knowsley, Merseyside. There may be an option for a subspecialty session per week, if appropriate.
Overview
The post supports the delivery of a cohesive, patient-focused CCVS in Knowsley with the aim of improving health outcomes and equality of access, while reducing unnecessary secondary care usage. The successful applicant will work alongside Dr Clare Hammond, Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Lead for Community Cardiology, to organise, develop and deliver CCVS services with the potential to enhance cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure services in the locality.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality patient care in the community setting, including requesting appropriate non-invasive investigations and providing concise clinical diagnoses and management plans to referring clinicians.
* Provide community-based clinics as the cornerstone of the post, with access to LHCH diagnostic services as needed.
* Contribute to research and audit related to CCVS, including data collection and dissemination of findings to the cardiology directorate.
* Engage in teaching and training activities to raise CCVS awareness among community staff and GP trainees; support the development of formal training for cardiovascular medicine in the community.
* Participate in the planning and delivery of the CCVS, with administrative and technical support to enable service delivery.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Senior medical clinician with eligibility for Consultant-level practice in cardiology.
* Experience or interest in community-based cardiology, cardiovascular diagnostics, and service development.
* Ability to work collaboratively with LHCH colleagues and other local services to deliver integrated care.
* Commitment to continuing professional development and annual appraisal/revalidation requirements.
Working Arrangements
* Post is flexible in nature and structure; full-time, part-time, and job-share applications will be considered.
* Based at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital; potential for a subspecialty session per week if appropriate.
