1. PAYE: £12.85 per hour
2. Umbrella: £16.62 per hour
Are you practical, reliable, and take pride in maintaining outdoor spaces? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Ground Maintenance Operative to join the Building Services & Maintenance team based at Monmouth Depot. This temporary role has been created to cover flexible working arrangements and offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to maintaining safe, clean, and sustainable environments across the county.
What You’ll Do:
3. Carry out grounds maintenance duties across public open spaces, verges, schools, and contracted sites.
4. Undertake grass cutting using hand-held and ride-on machinery.
5. Maintain horticultural features, including shrub beds and planted areas.
6. Support street services activities when required, including litter picking and responding to fly-tipping.
7. Assist with cemetery-related duties and landscaping works following appropriate training.
8. Ensure vehicles, tools, and machinery are used safely, maintained correctly, and inspected daily.
9. Respond to emergency situations such as flooding, snow clearance, or storm damage as part of a standby rota when required.
What We’re Looking For:
10. Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor working environment.
11. A good understanding of Health & Safety practices and the ability to follow safe working procedures.
12. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
13. Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and pride in delivering high-quality work.
14. Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work.
15. A full, clean UK driving licence.
16. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
Essential Requirements:
17. Eligibility to work in the UK.
18. Two years of references/work history.
19. Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
20. Criminal Convictions Declaration.
