Job Description:

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate with experience in structural biology techniques to join Dr. Paul Elliott’s lab. The role involves investigating the mechanisms of ubiquitin signalling within inflammation and cell death. The Elliott group, embedded within the Department of Biochemistry, is at the forefront of the ubiquitin signalling field, employing biochemical, biophysical, and structural biology techniques such as NMR, protein crystallography, and cryo-EM to address fundamental questions about ubiquitin regulation and function. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and will focus on structural biology methods to advance the group's research. This is a full-time fixed-term position funded by the BBSRC and Cancer Research UK for up to 3 years. The starting salary will be based on qualifications, skills, and funding availability.

What We Offer

* An excellent contributory pension scheme
* 38 days of annual leave
* A range of childcare services
* Family leave schemes
* Cycle loan scheme
* Membership to social and sports clubs
* Discounted bus travel and season ticket loans

The university also offers numerous social groups and sports clubs for those seeking more than just a workplace.

About you

Applicants should hold a PhD/DPhil, or be near completion, in structural biology, biochemistry, or related fields, with experience in structural biology techniques including cryo-electron microscopy. You should be highly motivated, capable of managing research independently, and effective in a team. Excellent written communication skills and a record of peer-reviewed publications are also required.
