A Regulatory Specialist is urgently required or the responsibility of providingglobalregulatory and scientific support for new and existing products, raw materials and processes.Reporting to the manager of Toxicology Services and working with the Product Compliance Team and other functions and the business to understand and reduce hazard and risk and ensure regulatory compliance in line with the R&D Policy Framework, Corporate Positions and specific legislation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Collaborate with the product stewardship and business functions within the department to support registrations and dossiers (e.g., EU-REACH, TSCA PMNs or LVEs, or K-REACH) for new and existing chemicals
* Initiate, manage, and oversee toxicological testing at Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to ensure compliance with global chemical registrations (e.g., TSCA Test Orders, REACH and REACH-like Test Orders) and other regulations (e.g., food contact, pesticide, or GHS)
* Design and implement harmonized, ready-to-use processes (e.g., hazard classifications or chemical registrations and reporting) and systems
* Function as an integral part of the global GPC Team by effectively analyzing and understanding hazards (e.g., EU CLP, US OSHA HCS, or WHMIS) and risks associated with new and existing global raw materials and products, then communicating the hazard and risk to product stewards, chemists, manufacturing, and sales and marketing managers
* Develop strategies to manage and maintain chemical registrations under REACH and other REACH-like regulations.
* Ensure all relevant global registrations, inventories and annual reporting is completed
* Provide consultation and support to the GPC Team to facilitate completion of internal and external customer inquiries, such as, but not limited to, SDSs, GHS labels, food contact clearances, chemical registrations, or toxicological testing
* Directly interact with the business, R&D, and marketing to highlight the teams expertise, allowing for collaboration and input on current and new processes.
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:
* Degree in toxicology, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, public health, environmental sciences
* Industrial experience working in a regulatory role.
* Knowledgeable in the following areas: chemical registration regulations; EU REACH; UK REACH; Korea REACH; TSCA; SDS authoring; chemical risk assessment, hazard assessment; GHS hazard classification
* Proven project management skills and the ability to work with high volumes of projects
* Maintain a strong safety ethic within the team
* Mentor other team members as required
* Must be flexible with changes in projects and priorities
