We have been named a partner on a new AMP8 framework with United Utilities, which will extend our relationship for at least the next five years. The partnership is set to be responsible for over £3bn of major infrastructure in the North West of England. Investment includes upgrades to wastewater treatment works and reducing storm overflows through the delivery of the largest spill reduction programme in the UK, protecting more than 500km of rivers and bathing waters.
We're looking for a Person Coordinating the Work (PCW) to manage and oversee site activities, acting as the client representative for United Utilities. This role involves planning, organising, and ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently
The Role Of a PCW Includes
* Taking reasonable steps to check that the Contractors intending to carry out the work, have the necessary skills and experience.
* Seeking advice from specialists e.g. mechanical, electrical, Field service engineer (FSE), Network Asset Engineer (NAE) and 3rd parties where needed o Note; DSEAR related specialists can be contacted through the UU DSEAR mailbox where required.
* Initiate the Work Authorisation documentation on SHED and ensure all parties have completed their respective areas of the document/s
* Taking reasonable steps to check the specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are suitable and sufficient to ensure the work is carried out safely
* Arrange and chair the Pre-Start meeting, ensuring any actions identified are documented and that the appropriate Work Authorisation documentation is completed before the work commences
* Ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place for undertaking site inspections
* Ensuring adequate time is allowed to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate the works, so that it can be carried out without risk to safety.
* Taking reasonable steps to confirm that all work being undertaken is carried out in accordance with the Work Authorisation procedure and any other associated procedures i.e. Isolation of Plant & Equipment and Management of Change
What You'll Need
* Must be trained and competent in their respective field
* Experience of managing Contractors
* Full UK driving licence
