Public Sector Account Director
Boutique Data Analytics Consultancy | UK Remote
Compensation - £up to £110K base salary + 10-15% annual bonus +10% pension + EMI Equity Profit share
This is a rare opportunity for a senior account leader to take real ownership of strategic government relationships deepening existing partnerships, expanding revenue across departments, and helping shape the long-term direction of a fast-growing data consultancy with genuine equity on the table.
About the company
We're partnering with a boutique data analytics consultancy with a strong and growing presence across UK central government including established, active engagements at DWP and HMRC. They've built their reputation on delivering genuinely impactful data work at scale, and are now looking for a senior account leader to protect, deepen, and grow those relationships as the business enters its next phase.
The role
As an Account Director, you will be the senior relationship owner across a portfolio of central government accounts. You'll be responsible for account health, revenue growth, and long-term partnership strategy working at the most senior levels within departments to understand their evolving data challenges and position the consultancy as an indispensable partner.
This is not a role about chasing cold pipeline. It's about becoming the most trusted voice in the room and expanding from there.
What you'll do
* Own senior stakeholder relationships within existing central government accounts, acting as the primary point of trust and continuity
* Drive account expansion: identifying new workstreams, budget cycles, and strategic opportunities within departments
* Develop and execute multi-year account plans aligned to departmental priorities and the consultancy's growth strategy
* Collaborate closely with delivery and technical teams to ensure client outcomes are exceptional and to turn delivery success into commercial momentum
* Spot and develop adjacencies: expanding relationships into other teams, directorates, and where appropriate, neighbouring departments
Who we're looking for
* You are a trusted, senior account leader with a track record of growing complex relationships within UK central government, not just maintaining them. You understand how government buys, how departments think, and how to position technology and data solutions against real departmental priorities.
* Demonstrable track record of growing accounts and increasing revenue within UK central government, experience limited to local government or wider public sector is not sufficient
* Strong background in account management or client leadership within technology or data consulting
* Experience in accounts involving large-scale, sensitive citizen data within central government (highly desirable)
* Deep, trusted relationships at senior levels — SCS, Director, Deputy Director — within major central government departments
* Commercially astute with strong instincts for identifying and converting growth opportunities within existing accounts
* A natural collaborator who brings delivery teams and clients together around shared outcome
Why this role
* Equity & exit - Defined EMI exit plan with genuine ownership upside
* Impactful work - Data-driven solutions that genuinely improve public services
* Flexibility - Remote-first, outcome-focused, with an optional 4-day week
* Growth - Join a scaling consultancy at the right moment in its trajectory
If you're a senior account leader with deep central government relationships, a track record of growing complex technology or data engagements, and the credibility to operate at the most senior levels of government, we'd love to hear from you.
