Overview
You will play a vital role in advancing next-generation intelligent systems within the School of Computer Science and Informatics. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and academic collaborators, you will contribute to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence, multimodal learning, and machine translation. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI research, translating theoretical advances into practical, impactful technologies that bridge linguistic and modal boundaries.
About You
We're seeking a motivated and highly capable researcher with a strong background in AI, multimodal learning, and machine translation. You will be enthusiastic about tackling complex research challenges and comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Proven experience with deep learning-based projects, particularly in machine translation or large language models
* Excellent coding skills, ideally in Python and/or C++
* A relevant qualification in computer science or a closely related discipline
* Strong organisational skills, with excellent time management and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to your work
* You will also demonstrate creativity in problem solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet project deadlines.
