The Successful Candidate will:
* To ensure adherence to the NMC code of conduct in all areas of care & practice
* To ensure the well‑being of all residents in maintaining the Six broad values of Privacy, Dignity, Independence, Choice, Rights, and Fulfilment
* To liaise with the resident’s family, friends, GP, community nurses, specialists, pharmacists, local authorities, local councils, voluntary bodies and any other associations related to the care of the residents
* To take the lead in nursing, ensuring that the nursing and personal care of residents is maintained on a daily basis and in accordance to the individuals’ needs, capabilities and requirements
* To liaise with Home Manager and/or Deputy Manager and other senior members of the management team on any issues that might arise
* To actively promote and encourage as much personal independence and choice as possible in the resident’s daily living and activities undertaken within the home
* To take part in any associated training activities in order that you ascertain the skills and knowledge to carry out your role in an effective and safe manner
* To ensure that as much of a stimulating and attractive environment as possible is provided for the residents

Essential Criteria
* Registered Nurse Qualification
* Evidence of on-going continuing professional development linked to demonstrate clinical competencies
* 6 month post registration
* Experience of coordinating and managing residents care
* Previous experience of working with residents suffering with dementia
* Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints, Supervision and managerial experience
* Good knowledge of Health and Social Care Act 2008
* To undertake the duties of the job in accordance with relevant legislative requirements
* Understanding of professional and current issues in care for the residents
* Handling Clinical Incidents and complaints
* Effective leadership and organisational skills
* Able to motivate and develop a team of staff
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Good problems solving skills
* Able to work independently and manage a workload
* Ability to delegate and prioritise, Safe receiving, ordering, handling and administration of medication
* Basic IT skills
* A genuine interest and desire to meet the care needs of people with dementia and physical frailties
* Affective time management
* Motivated, enthusiastic and committed
* Takes responsibility for own actions and promotes good team working
* Shares information and good practice appropriately
* A flexible approach to work
* Treats others with courtesy and respect at all times
