Material Control Assistant Location: Tuthill, Oxfordshire, UK About Us: Tuthill is a family-owned business with over 50 years of success in the motorsport and automotive industry. About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and responsible Material Control Assistant to join our team. As part of the team, you will play a key role in supply of material and key parts to the wider team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be working in our state-of-the-art facility alongside a friendly, supportive team. Key Responsibilities: Support with issuing parts to the production team, ensuring accuracy and keeping simple records to track what’s been issued. Help monitor stock levels and notify the purchasing team when items are running low, especially during busy periods. Assist with distributing stock internally and updating inventory information on our bespoke stock management system (training provided). Help receive incoming deliveries by checking quantities, basic quality, and entering information into the system. Support the dispatch process by helping with picking, packing, and preparing outgoing goods for delivery. Keep work areas tidy and organised, showing a good level of personal organisation. Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, with training and guidance provided. Lend a hand with general upkeep and organisation of the stores area, including stock placement and labelling. Participate in stock checks and audits, learning how to identify and correct simple stock issues. Take part in improving how materials are stored and organised to make sure everything is easy to find and in the right place. Communicate effectively with team members and be open to learning from feedback and day to day experience. What We're Looking For: Experience working in a stores, warehousing, or material control environment, ideally within the automotive or motorsport industry Ability to accurately receive, inspect, record, and organise stock, ensuring parts are stored correctly and traceability is maintained Strong attention to detail and good computer literacy, including experience using inventory management. Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team to support production and workshop requirements Proactive approach to maintaining stock levels, identifying shortages, and supporting the smooth flow of materials throughout the business A methodical and organised mindset, with a hands on, practical approach to day to day tasks A current forklift license is desirable but not essential Previous experience working with P orsche components or in a motorsport environment is an advantage Willingness to follow all company policies, health & safety procedures, and contribute to a tidy and efficient working environment Key Competencies: Reliable and punctual Energetic, proactive, calm under pressure, highly personable with a mature personality Strong Team-worker with the ability to thrive in a small, closely-knit, and dedicated team Thrive in a pressurised and fast paced environment Exceptional communication, negotiation and organisational skills Flexibility – being prepared to work longer hours when occasionally required Self-motivated and with the ability to work unsupervised What We Offer: The chance to work in a highly respected, family-owned business A modern, well-equipped workplace in Oxfordshire A collaborative and welcoming team environment The opportunity to contribute to world-class road, rally and race car projects A competitive salary Guaranteed time off over Christmas An on-site gym Free parking After work team activities Staff events Fish and Chip Fridays Looking After Me, wellbeing support.
