Community Phlebotomist
Band 2
Overview
We are looking for phlebotomist, hours to be worked flexibly across a 7 day service (Mon - Sun between 07:00 - 16:30).
It is essential that you have a full UK driving license and have access to a car that can be used for work purposes as the post involves travelling across the city to provide services in designated clinics or domiciliary visits.
Main duties of the job
 * Work as part of the anticoagulation and phlebotomy service.
 * After training, perform blood drawing procedures (venipuncture) for adults and children over 5 years of age, along with near patient testing (capillary sampling).
 * Operate equipment and instruments with minimal supervision, adhering to Trust clinical practices and guidelines.
 * Undertake Phlebotomy Clinics, including near patient testing where necessary, in GP surgeries and Health Centres, as well as patient homes and residential/nursing homes across Wolverhampton.

As a community phlebotomist you will assist in the provision of an efficient Phlebotomy and Anticoagulation service, both within our community clinics and within patient homes (domiciliary).
Previous experience is essential. You will need good communication skills, organizational skills, be flexible and able to manage your own workload.
