Lead from the front. Influence projects from concept to completion.
We’re working with a forward-thinking construction business in Sheffield to appoint a commercially sharp and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator.
In this key leadership role, you'll take full ownership of the bid and pre-construction process—developing competitive tenders that win work and managing commercial performance to ensure strong project delivery. You’ll lead and mentor a small team, shape strategy, and play a hands-on role in both estimating and post-contract commercial management.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading tender submissions with input from internal and external teams.
* Producing detailed cost plans, pricing documents, and bid deliverables.
* Coordinating internal adjudications and post-tender negotiations.
* Developing procurement schedules and overseeing procurement alongside the Contracts Manager.
* Managing variations, valuations, and final accounts—both upstream and downstream.
* Monitoring cost performance and margin across live projects.
* Mentoring and supporting Estimator/QS and Graduate team members.
* Proven experience in estimating and quantity surveying, ideally in a senior role.
* Solid knowledge of construction processes and commercial management.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
* Confident communicator with leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset.
* A detail-oriented, solutions-led approach with a strong customer focus.
