Social Worker
Location: East Cornwall (covering Liskeard, Launceston, Callington & Gunnislake)
Pay Rate: £25.38 per hour (paid weekly every Friday)
Contract Length: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:15pm

About the Role
We are looking for experienced and motivated Social Workers to join a dynamic team covering East Cornwall. This is a full-time role with a hybrid working model, including community visits, office-based work, and remote write-ups.
You will be required to carry out at least 2 days per week of face-to-face visits, with flexibility to complete administrative work remotely.
Key Responsibilities
1. Completing Mental Capacity Assessments
2. Undertaking Section 42 safeguarding enquiries
3. Carrying out strengths-based and needs assessments
4. Developing and reviewing care and support plans
5. Managing court work and presenting in formal settings where required
6. Effectively prioritising workload and meeting deadlines
Requirements & Experience
7. Recognised Social Work qualification with current HCPC registration
8. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including Social Care, Human Rights, and Person-Centred Practice
9. Experience working with adults in need of support and their families
10. Ability to complete complex assessments, analyse information, and produce clear, outcome-focused plans
11. Confident in report writing, record keeping, and presenting information in meetings or court
12. Strong communication skills, including handling sensitive situations, conflict, and challenging behaviours
13. Effective negotiation skills to secure appropriate care and support packages
14. Good IT skills and experience using case management systems
15. Understanding of statutory social care structures and accountability

16. Access to a vehicle and ability to travel across East Cornwall
17. Willingness to undertake face-to-face visits
18. Subject to an enhanced DBS (criminal records) check
19. Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
