Our Amentum Defence and Security teams provide design and engineering services for our nuclear and defence clients across the UK and abroad. Our team is experiencing exciting growth and long-term prospects within our established practice, and we are looking for BIM skills, if you are passionate about developing yourself and in meeting new challenges. We offer hybrid working with 1-2 days in the office. Occasional site visits may be necessary.
About the opportunity:
The individual will have the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled teams delivering, implementing and managing BIM. We offer hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office, and we have a UK network of offices to accommodate your location with a mix of hybrid working. We have excellent IT support. Occasional site visits may be necessary.
Working on a variety of projects in the defence and security sector, this role is for the Non-Nuclear Engineering Partner (NNEP) framework, a partnership between AWE and our company, tasked with delivering a major contribution to the AWE improvement plan. The NNEP framework supports the UK’s Continuous At-Sea Deterrent (CASD) capability. The NNEP Engineering function provides full life cycle engineering solutions across asset investment programmes and new capability projects.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the BIM Manager may include:
* Capturing client requirements and developing BIM strategies to meet those requirements.
* Managing the rollout and implementation of BIM documentation within client organizations, across projects and at the program level.
* Interfacing with clients, design teams, and contractors to implement BIM methodologies and best practices from strategy to delivery.
* Leading and managing a small multidisciplinary team.
* Conducting checks, reviews, and validation of project models, including clash detection and data validation against information requirements.

Requirements:
* Understanding of emerging technology markets supporting clients and delivery.
* Knowledge of international BIM standards, especially ISO 19650.
* Experience in creating and maintaining BIM documentation.
* Understanding of roles and relationships in BIM-enabled projects.
* Proficiency with 3D modelling software such as Revit or Aveva 3D.
* Experience working in multidisciplinary environments including architectural, civil, structural, and mechanical services.
* UK nationality and willingness to obtain SC security clearance; residency in the UK for the past 5 years.
