We are seeking an experienced Medium Voltage Variable Speed Drive (VSD) Commissioning Engineer for a leading manufacturing company. Reporting to the Field Service Engineering Leader, you will be key in commissioning and maintenance tasks.
This role is initially based at our Marine Power Test Facility in Whetstone, Leicestershire, with potential travel up to 4 weeks after about 18 months.
Primarily responsible for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and documenting drive systems safely according to instructions, in preparation for hand-over. Ongoing maintenance of drive equipment is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation and checking of cabling, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, UPS batteries/systems, and variable speed drives.
* Commissioning and full integration of Variable Speed Drives. Service and fault finding on drive equipment and related systems.
* Produce commissioning documentation in compliance with quality and safety standards such as BS EN 18001 and classification societies like Lloyds Register and DNV.
* Maintain competence through training courses and e-learning as per company policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
* UK National and eligible for UK security clearance to SC level.
* Proven experience in HV/LV plant and drive commissioning.
* Ability to produce and maintain documentation to required standards.
* Degree or HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
* Familiarity with IEC and marine classification society rules is desirable.
* Experience in MV drive commissioning and fault finding.
* Established site work record.
* Good communication skills in English, written and verbal.
* Customer-focused.

* Experience with PC/PLC equipment.
* Health and Safety trained.
* Record of HV/MV training and operations.
