MK-Search are working with a leading M&E contractor with a turnover of £250m and a strong presence delivering across sectors who are looking for a mechanical lead to join their team on a very notable £65m M&E data centre package they have just secured in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Reporting to an overall project director, you will join the scheme from pre-construction phase, going to site over the coming months to take control of the complex packages from a technical and leadership perspective, acting as mechanical lead, to drive the project to completion due in late 2028.
Mechanical Lead Duties:
* Support in the oversight of all day-to-day site operations.
* Direct management of the project team, including alignment of all discipline, leads to the benefit of project goals.
* Play a lead role in the management of Site QA in conjunction with the QA Manager.
* Assist and lead in the management of Site Safety in conjunction with the project team and the Safety management.
* Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme)
* Liaise with the client and establish a trusting relationship to ensure future project opportunities.
* To manage and drive a large team to meet all project requirements and deadlines
* Ensuring all Subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained up to date and filed for future reference.
* Assist in projected labour projections from the field supervisors.
* Assist with the commercial team to ensure all variations are been captured and costs issued to the client.
Essential Criteria:
* Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process
* Ability to control and manage people and programs
* An Engineering Degree would be of advantage
* Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects
* Mission critical experience
* Pipefitting or plumbing trade backgrounds also considered
* Commercially astute
* Strong on design
* Competent working to aggressive programmes
