This exciting opportunity for proactive and energetic Activity Assistants with behavioural management experience to join an SEND school for children with severe Autism and challenging behaviour.
This role offers the chance to work under the guidance of SEN-trained staff, supporting programmes that enable access to learning for all pupils in an inclusive environment.
This position is ideal if you seek a learning support role that challenges you to use your knowledge, communication skills, and creativity to develop varied approaches to help pupils understand information.
You will use a variety of resources to inspire pupils' understanding, motivation, and investigation of lesson topics, ensuring they acquire the skills and attributes needed to meet their learning objectives.
Main Duties:
1. Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact according to individual needs and personalities.
2. Promote inclusion and acceptance among pupils and staff, supporting diversity and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities.
3. Encourage good pupil behaviour, promptly addressing conflicts and incidents in line with policies, and fostering responsibility for behaviour.
4. Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive environment, including assisting with the display of pupils' work.
With your knowledge and experience supporting children with and without SEN and ALN, you will be a valuable asset.
