Job Title: Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Coordinator Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire Position Type: Full-Time We are hiring! Due to a period of continued growth, HDD have an exciting opportunity for a QHSE Coordinator to join the team at our St. Albans office. HDD are a water utilities contractor, working alongside main contractors on various mains renewal and trunk main reinforcement projects across the South East. This role will provide vital support that will help the business grow over the coming years. Role Overview: As a QHSE Coordinator, you will be pivotal in ensuring the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality services while maintaining a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role integrates the management of Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, and Environmental compliance into a cohesive strategy that aligns with legal standards and industry best practices. Relevant qualifications are desireable but not essential. The fit of the candidate into the team is of utmost importance, therefore training will be provided for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS). Conduct regular internal audits and facilitate external audits to ensure ongoing compliance. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and operational efficiency. Health & Safety: Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate identified hazards. Lead accident and incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions. Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programs for all employees. Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and standards. Environmental Compliance: Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures to minimize environmental impact. Monitor and report on environmental performance, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 standards. Conduct environmental audits and implement corrective actions as necessary. Compliance & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards. Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory bodies as required. Ensure all necessary certifications and accreditations are maintained and renewed in a timely manner. Desirable Qualifications & Experience: Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and other relevant regulations. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
