Senior Engineer
Location: Hertfordshire
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme in the South East. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of on-site delivery, quality assurance, and technical coordination across a complex civil engineering project.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate site activities to ensure all setting-out and quality control procedures are carried out efficiently and in line with the construction programme
• Produce and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring works comply with project specifications
• Ensure only the latest drawings and specifications are in use on site
• Support the development of short-term programmes and monitor progress against key milestones
• Oversee surveying and setting-out requirements, including control establishment and volumetric checks
• Maintain accurate daily site records, including subcontractor attendance and progress notes
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, safety briefings, and management of change processes
• Lead and support site engineers, promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture
Requirements:
• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Strong technical experience in setting-out, surveying, and quality control within civil or infrastructure projects
• Working knowledge of ITPs, RAMS, and safety management procedures
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction documents
• Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is advantageous
• Valid CSCS Card and SSSTS/SMSTS
