We are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEN Inclusion Room Supervisor to join a well-respected secondary school in Kettering. This is a vital pastoral and support role within the school, providing a calm, structured, and supportive environment for students who require time away from mainstream classrooms.
The Role:
1. Supervising students referred to the Inclusion Room for behaviour or wellbeing-related reasons.
2. Ensuring a positive and respectful environment where students can reflect, refocus, and reintegrate.
3. Liaising with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCO to ensure students continue to access learning.
4. Implementing behaviour and support strategies in line with the school's policies.
5. Keeping accurate records of incidents, progress, and interventions.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
6. Have experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with behavioural, social, emotional, or learning needs.
7. Be calm, patient, and resilient under pressure.
8. Be confident in managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
9. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
10. Be committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and wellbeing for all students.
Desirable:
11. Prior experience in a school-based role or in an inclusion/pastoral capacity.
12. Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or behaviour support.
13. Team Teach or other behaviour management training (training can be provided).
