This 9‑month fixed‑term Operations Controller role at the Markham Vale site supports day‑to‑day warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound schedules.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6pm‑6am. Salary: £35,419 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
- Control paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
- Communicate issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
- Participate as an active member of the operations team, offering suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
- Maintain good communication with transport providers to avoid late collections and delivery failures.
- Produce a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift, highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.
Qualifications
- Proven experience within a similar fast‑paced role.
- Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
- PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with a high level of attention to detail.
- Team player, capable of working independently on initiative.
- In‑depth knowledge of on‑site systems.
- Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
- Strong communication skills, courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third‑party hauliers.
- Excellent time‑management skills and problem‑solving ability.
