We are currently partnering with a multi-disciplined medium-sized company based in Hertfordshire, who are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
Our client is a proud family run business who work throughout the public and private sectors to deliver a variety of projects including one-off projects to multi-million-pound frameworks.
This is a full-time position with a salary band of £50,000 – £60,000 (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Working on social housing reinvestment works with a mixture of internals/externals and FRA works
* Measuring progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner
* Monitoring of all material purchasing and supply for the project to ensure that the associated quality and time constraints are met
* Developing an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout
* Monitoring and inspect projects regularly to ensure that quality benchmarks are being adhered to, key performance indicators are met and target timescales achieved
* Liaising with the Management Team and SHEQ Manager to ensure that SHEQ initiatives are implemented
* Providing project direction, focus and consistency across the project, including the line management, training and development of all reporting staff
Experience required:
* Planned maintenance and refurbishment experience
* Social Housing experience
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
* Knowledge of Building legislation and Health & Safety legislation
* Financial and commercial awareness
