Specialist Radiographer - Mammography

We are looking for enthusiastic Qualified Mammographers to join our team.
Trainee Mammographers are welcome to apply. We will accept applications from Diagnostic Radiographers looking to specialise in Mammography and willing to complete the Pg Cert in Mammography.
Trainee Mammographers will be paid a trainee salary: Pay will be (Annex U/21):
* Year 1 - 60% of the top of a Band 6
* Year 2 - 65% of the top of a Band 6
* Year 3 - 70% of the top of a Band 6
* Year 4 - 75% of the top of a Band 6
Part-time applicants will be considered.

Main duties of the job

About us
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and RLI offer a range of hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various specialist clinics. WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and outpatient diagnostics. Additionally, we provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapeutic, day case, and inpatient services across these sites and in the community.

Our services include a well-woman screening (NHSBSP) and a busy symptomatic imaging service. The North Lancashire and South Cumbria Breast Screening Service invites approximately 117,000 women every three years, utilizing two mobile units and three static sites at:
* Westmorland General Hospital
* Furness General Hospital
* Mobile Screening Van (rotating around Blackpool, Fleetwood, Preston, Lytham, and Poulton le Fylde)
Successful candidates will travel across Lancashire and South Cumbria, near the scenic Lake District. We are equipped with GE Pristina and 3D Mammography systems, with stereotactic biopsy capabilities.
The role is primarily based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary but requires working across all screening sites to meet service needs. The role also includes providing symptomatic imaging services.
Candidates are encouraged to arrange a visit to our Breast Unit to discuss a potential move into Mammography.
Person Specification
Qualification
* BSc Radiography or equivalent
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of CPD
* Post Graduate Award in Mammography
Experience
* Clinical experience as a Diagnostic Radiographer
* NHS Breast Screening and Symptomatic experience
* Evidence of mentoring
Skills
* Confident with IT systems including PACS/RIS

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum, pro-rata.
