What We Are Looking For
We are currently recruiting a talented and motivated Senior Fire Engineer to join our Fire Engineering Team in Manchester. This role can be worked flexibly, which to us means at least 3 days per week either in the office or on site with the remaining days at home. We also offer the opportunity to flex your start and finish times.
Main Responsibilities
* Developing Fire Safety Strategies during Design and Construction stages.
* Preparing technical engineering analysis using relevant guidance documents and methods i.e. prescriptive and performance based.
* Supporting the team in developing technical knowledge.
* Carrying out site visits when required.
* Attending internal and external meetings.
* Overseeing and managing projects from inception to completion.
* Liaising with clients on a daily basis.
Qualifications
* A degree in Fire Engineering or similar, membership of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or equivalent.
* Proven experience working in a similar role.
* Excellent all round up to date knowledge of Part B of the Building Regulations, Fire Safety Order and other relevant legislation and fire design guidance documents for example BS9999, BS7479, BS9991, BB100 and HTM05.
* A proven background in fire safety engineering with an understanding of fire engineered solutions.
* Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences.
* Excellent consultancy, communication and relationship management skills.
