City Gate Construction (CGC) is establishing itself as an industry leader. Founded in 2003, we are a privately owned Construction, Refurbishment and Maintenance main contractor with offices in Scotland and England.
The company is headquartered in Paisley and has consolidated its position as a major contributor to the construction industry, employing over 200 staff across eight fully integrated divisions, whilst maintaining a year-on-year commitment to trades apprentices, which reflects 15% of our workforce.
We recognise the importance of industry-standard accreditations, and we work continually to add to those we have, which currently include ConstructionLine GOLD, Safe Contractor, CHAS, NICEIC, GasSafe, SNIPEF and Achilles accreditations.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate multiple projects across the region, ensuring programmes, quality, and budgets are achieved.
* Lead and support Site Managers, providing clear direction, guidance, and mentoring.
* Take responsibility for operational delivery, ensuring effective planning, resourcing, and communication across all sites.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants, acting as a key point of contact throughout project delivery.
* Work closely with the Construction Director and commercial team to manage costs, variations, and overall project performance.
* Promote and uphold CGC’s commitment to Health & Safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Site Manager role within the construction or refurbishment sector.
* Strong operational understanding of project delivery from start to finish.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and priorities.
* Commercially aware with a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
* Ability to build strong client relationships and represent CGC professionally.
* A positive leader who promotes teamwork, accountability, and high standards across every project.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the Southwest and London.
Qualifications
* Construction-related qualification or equivalent experience.
