An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Estimator to join a growing, family‑run construction business due to continued expansion and a healthy pipeline of work. With an annual turnover of approximately £8 million, the company delivers a broad range of construction projects valued between £50,000 and £3 million across general building and civil engineering sectors.
Job Requirements
* Previous experience within an estimating or construction‑related role is essential
* General building and/or civil engineering experience advantageous
* Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
* Good numerical and analytical skills
* Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
* Full UK driving licence essential
* Able to work from the office full‑time
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing tenders, estimates and cost plans
* Review drawings, specifications and project documentation
* Produce take‑offs and quantify materials and labour requirements
* Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
* Support senior estimators with pricing and tender submissions
* Maintain estimating records and documentation
* Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors
* Assist with site visits and project handovers where required
