Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Trainer / Assessor to support the expansion of our existing accredited training centre and assist with alignment to LCL Awards / LCL Certification.
Our training centre is already accredited with EUSR for Smart Metering, and we are now looking to broaden our electrical training and assessment capability.
This is initially a contractor position with flexible commitment, ideally suited to an experienced assessor who can support accreditation requirements, deliver training, and help develop the centre as demand grows.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will play a key role in:
* Supporting the expansion of our electrical training provision
* Assisting with alignment and accreditation to LCL Certification standards
* Delivering and assessing electrical training programmes
* Ensuring compliance with awarding body and assessment requirements
* Supporting development of course delivery and assessment processes
This is not expected to be a full-time role initially, making it ideal for a contractor or freelance assessor. As the training centre grows, there may be opportunities for:
* Ongoing retained contractor support
* Transition into a permanent role
* Supporting the development of internal trainers/assessors
Location Requirements
* If employed directly, candidates must be based in the North East.
* Contractors based outside the region will be considered; however, they must be able to travel regularly to our North East training centre to deliver training and assessments on-site.
Essential Assessor Qualifications
Applicants must hold one or more of the following assessor qualifications:
* TAQA
* A1 / A2
* D32 / D33
Essential Training Qualifications
Applicants must also hold a recognised teaching/training qualification such as:
* Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)
* PTLLS
* CIPD Qualifications in Learning & Development
Essential Electrical Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must hold relevant industry qualifications in the subjects they wish to deliver and assess, including:
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – City & Guilds 2382
* Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (e.g. City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent)
* Level 3 Award in Inspection & Testing (e.g. City & Guilds 2391)
Desirable Qualifications
The following would be advantageous:
* Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Installations – City & Guilds 2921
* Solar PV & Battery Storage Systems
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience delivering and assessing electrical qualifications
* Understands awarding body compliance and training centre requirements
* Can support accreditation and centre expansion activities
* Is confident working independently in a contractor capacity
* Brings practical industry experience alongside training expertise
