Fabrication & Welding Technician Instructor
to support learners in our Construction faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team and make a real impact in further and higher education.
As a Technician Instructor, you'll play a key role in delivering practical teaching, supporting curriculum staff, and ensuring learners gain hands-on experience in fabrication and welding. You'll also contribute to curriculum development, learner reviews, and the maintenance of specialist equipment and resources.
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Recent experience working within the fabrication and welding industry or a related specialism
* Ability to plan and prepare teaching resources and demonstrate practical techniques
* Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting learners
* Ability to carry out routine and planned maintenance of equipment
* Willingness to work flexible hours and lift equipment/materials as required
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and support learners in workshops and practical teaching areas
* Provide guidance and conduct learner reviews both onsite and online
* Maintain equipment and specialist areas, including safety inspections and stocktaking
* Assist with curriculum development and departmental marketing activities
* Support purchasing of services and supplies for the curriculum area

Let's Teach The LET's teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Let's Bloom
The LET's Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
