Responsibilities
* Teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
* Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured lessons
* Use assessment effectively to secure strong progress and outcomes
* Contribute to curriculum development and innovative practice within the department
* Play an active role in the wider life of the school, including enrichment and extra‑curricular opportunities
* Work collaboratively within a supportive and well‑resourced team
Qualifications
* Holds QTS (or equivalent) and a degree in English or a related subject
* Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners
* Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
* Uses creative and inclusive teaching strategies to engage students of all abilities
* Is reflective, ambitious and committed to continual professional development
* Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to department and whole‑school improvement
