Sales Engineer
A well-established engineering company based near Keele, is seeking a driven and technically minded Internal Sales Engineer to join their friendly and professional sales team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in engineering or technical sales who enjoys working with customers, preparing quotations, and delivering excellent service within a respected UK manufacturer.
The Role
As part of the internal sales team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations, selecting suitable products to meet customer specifications, and maintaining close contact with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Comprehensive in-house product training will be provided, ensuring you gain a strong understanding of the company’s products and applications.
Key Responsibilities of this Sales Engineer role:
1. Prepare accurate quotations within agreed deadlines
2. Select products to match customer requirements and specifications
3. Maintain regular client contact to build strong relationships and customer loyalty
4. Liaise effectively with customers, area sales managers, and management
5. Support and maintain profitable sales within company targets
6. Provide feedback on market trends and opportunities
7. Utilise CRM, accounting, and sizing software to manage data and workflows efficiently
8. Ensure all purchases meet relevant compliance and quality requirements
9. Identify personal training and development needs to enhance skills and career growth
Skills Required for this Sales Engineer role:
10. Engineering qualification – Desirable
11. Computer literate
12. Knowledge of pumps, pipework, or related applications – Desirable
13. Understanding of pressure pipe systems and fittings – Desirable
14. General understanding of engineering principles
15. Experience in a similar internal sales or technical role
16. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
17. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
18. Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple tasks
19. Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
Details of this Sales Engineer role:
20. Based at head office in Woore, Cheshire
21. Office hours: 08:00 – 18:00 (flexibility to work contracted hours over 4 days, subject to workload and manager discretion)
22. Own transport is essential due to location
23. Salary: £27,500 – £30,000 DOE
24. 30 days’ holiday (including statutory), rising to 33 days after 1 year
25. Annual performance bonus (non-contractual)
