Brief description:
As the Audio-Visual Lead Installer, you will be responsible for the realisation of the design, installation, and maintenance of audiovisual systems for simple and complex projects. Your role involves managing a team of installers and ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, on time, and according to client specifications. The Lead installer has a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality AV experiences.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with clients, project managers, and design teams to understand project requirements and develop detailed installation plans.
· Review floor plans, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the best placement and routing of audio visual components.
· Conduct site surveys to assess the physical infrastructure, cabling requirements, and potential challenges that may affect system installation.
· Lead a team of installers or subcontractors, providing guidance, instructions, and technical support throughout the installation process.
· Assign tasks, set deadlines, and monitor the progress of installations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project schedules.
· Train and mentor junior installers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
· Install, mount, and configure audio visual equipment, including displays, projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, control systems, and video conferencing solutions.
· Perform cable pulling, termination, and dressing, ensuring proper connectivity and cable management practices.
· Integrate audio visual systems with other technology components, such as lighting systems, networking infrastructure, and control interfaces.
· Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality and performance of installed systems.
· Document and maintain accurate records of installed equipment, wiring diagrams, system configurations, and any modifications made during the installation process.
· Mark drawings for as-built documentation to facilitate future maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
· Communicate and collaborate with clients, project managers, and systems designers to provide regular updates on project progress, resolve any issues or concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
· Demonstrate and train clients on the operation and functionality of installed audio visual systems, addressing any questions or technical difficulties they may have.
· Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
· Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards during the installation process, and report any incidents or accidents promptly.
· To use the necessary work equipment, hazardous substances and personal protective equipment properly and to immediately inform management in occurrence of hazardous situations.
· Oversee the installation, and integration, of AV systems, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to industry standards.
· Conduct regular system inspections, maintenance activities, and software updates to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AV systems, including audio, video, control systems, and network connectivity.
· To keep the set of tools, materials, workspace and means of transport complete, proper/clean, safe and durable.
· To actively contribute to improve the organisation where necessary. Responsible for onsite health and safety.
· Stay updated on emerging AV technologies, industry trends, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
· Participate in the relevant courses offered by AVEX.
· Working according to the standards and values at AVEX and the client, including BIPP and GPA.
· Adhere to the procedures and practices in force at AVEX and the client.
Required knowledge and skills:
* 4 years proven experience as an Audio Visual Engineer or a similar role, with a track record of successfully delivering AV projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of audiovisual systems
* Proficiency in industry-standard AV technologies, such as displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, control systems, video conferencing, and digital signal processing.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and foster a collaborative work environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Familiarity of network and computer/ICT techniques.
* The necessary knowledge of used software packages.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
* Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, or equivalent are a plus.
* Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
* In possession of a driving licence

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
