Overview
Base pay range. Hours: 36 per week. Salary: £12.90 to £13.10 per hour (a higher range is offered to applicants with qualifications in health and social care). The role involves shift work and weekends on a rota basis. Choice Care offers a number of flexible positions to fit around personal needs.
The Senior Social Care Worker provides support and guidance to a team of social care workers, ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will liaise with senior staff in the home and report any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and a willingness to learn and expand on your knowledge. You will help ensure residents are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives through activities and care.
Key duties
* Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
* Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home
* Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
* Executing tasks in a professional, timely and accurate manner
* Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
* Assisting residents in daily activities, both in and away from the home
* Using initiative to support residents during activities and day-to-day tasks
Personal attributes Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player and a good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Senior Social Care Worker.

Fairview is a spacious, detached home on a quiet residential street in Baughurst, near Tadley and Newbury. It supports up to eight adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, with a tailored leisure and educational program and transport for local travel and outings.
