The School and Role
An SEN school based in Bournemouth is currently seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September 2025. The school offers a supportive and inclusive environment for students with complex needs and disabilities, spanning from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to Post-16. It is carefully structured to accommodate a wide range of learning styles and abilities, ensuring each student receives the tailored support and resources necessary to succeed and flourish.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) who will work closely with our teaching staff and support students with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and emotional challenges. Your role will be vital in fostering an inclusive educational environment and ensuring that each child receives the individual support they require.
Requirements
The ideal Teaching Assistant will possess:
5. Experience working with children in primary and/or secondary school settings
6. Experience supporting pupils with SEND
7. A genuine passion for fostering student progress
8. Strong teamworking skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
Whilst previous experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and/or social communication difficulties is desirable but not essential. We will also consider applicants with experience in care, sports coaching, mental health support, or similar roles with transferrable skills.
