Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Salary: £15.00 £19.00 per hour
Location: Covering Centeral South England (Dorset and Hampshire)

About the role
This is a hands-on position that will see you involved in maintaining, repairing, and improving a range of mechanical systems. You'll be diagnosing faults, carrying out planned work, and responding quickly when things don't go to plan. Accuracy, safety, and an eye for efficiency are key here you'll be expected to keep things running smoothly while also looking for ways to make processes better.

Working hours
1. Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am 4:00 pm
2. Friday: 8:00 am 3:30 pm
3. 37 hours per week
Key duties
4. Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and improvements
5. Diagnose and fix faults quickly and effectively
6. Work from technical drawings and engineering documents
7. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
8. Support wider teams with engineering challenges
9. Keep accurate records of work and parts used
Key requirements
10. Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar
11. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and fault-finding methods
12. Confident reading and working from engineering drawings
13. Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
14. Knowledge of health and safety standards in an engineering environment
15. Engineering qualifications or apprenticeship background would be an advantage
