Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term

Are you passionate about reducing crime and anti-social behaviour in the local community and want to make a difference? Do you possess the skills and confidence in working with communities affected by crime and anti-social behaviour and want to be a part of tackling it?

We are currently seeking a Housing ASB Officer to join our crime and ASB team in coordinating and taking a lead role, working with partners to reduce housing related crime and anti-social behaviour across the City of Leicester. Do you have the skills to proactively manage anti-social behaviour understanding both the Crime and ASB legislation 2014 alongside the Housing Act 1985 to detect and prevent escalation of anti-social behavioural issues.

We will consider this vacancy on a secondment basis for Leicester City Council employees. If you wish to apply for this post on a secondment basis then please make your line manager aware before applying.

This is a fixed term post working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (for 12 months covering maternity leave), with the potential to be made permanent. However, you may be required to work some weekends and evenings as and when needed. Based at Mansfield house Police Station, you will be required to work in a patch-based manner and expected to travel around the city as the role requires.

What you'll be doing

Joining a small, dedicated team, you'll be committed to delivering the best possible service to residents of Leicester. With responsibility for managing a caseload of Housing related anti-social behaviour. You will work with key stakeholders internally and externally to reduce ASB and the fear of crime across the City of Leicester. In addition, you will work alongside enforcement officers ensuring cases that are escalated to them are prepared and managed appropriately beforehand.

Working flexibly with internal and external colleagues, you will work to identify, reduce, manage, co-ordinate, and deliver responses to crime and anti-social behaviour. By extension, you will be working on strategies, policies and lead on projects as directed by the line manager.

What you'll need

You will have significant community safety experience, experience in the implementation and development of projects/Operations/ASB case management and have a detailed understanding of crime, disorder and ASB issues and how these affect communities.

With the ability to prepare and manage evidencable case files, you will have high levels of communication, literacy, and numeracy skills in order to perform the job tasks at an exceptional level.
