Overview
The Direct Payments Recipient (The Direct Payments Recipient is the employer, and they hold all the employer's responsibilities associated with this role. Pembrokeshire County Council supports them to fulfil their employer obligations). This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which aims to enable the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently. We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support a young adult in gaining independence and enjoying everyday life.
Responsibilities
* Encourage and support the employer in developing independence and life skills.
* Enable the employer to interact socially within the community.
* Provide support with shopping and attending activities of interest.
* Encourage and support attendance at appointments.
* Ensure safety at all times during working hours.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested during working hours.
* Be mindful of safeguarding, and report any concerns to the relevant authority.
* Contact GP, Social Worker, or Local Authority if medical assistance is required.

* Proactive and self-motivated.
* A good communicator who can build a supportive, consistent relationship.
* Flexible with good timekeeping.
* Knowledgeable about the local area (desirable).
* Able to bring a good sense of humour and a laid-back personality, to help ease anxiety and make interactions enjoyable.
* Have knowledge and experience of ASD and basic awareness of Tourette's.
* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
