Independent? High Standards?
Do you have a keen interest in standards in public life and a wish to serve the local community and uphold local democracy?
North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority (the Authority) has two vacancies for Independent Members to serve on their Standards Committee. The Standards Committee aims to promote, maintain and improve standards of conduct by members of the Authority. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate objectivity, independence and impartiality and will have good listening skills and team working skills.
Members can claim reimbursement for travel and subsistence.
Independent Members are remunerated for each meeting/event they attend in accordance with rates set by the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru. Those rates are currently £105 for up to four hours and £210 for over four hours. These rates are reviewed annually.
The work of the Committee requires the Independent Members to possess the following qualities and skills:-
· listening skills
· ability to understand and weigh up evidence
· ability to come to an objective view and explain that view by reference to the evidence
· team working skills
· respect for others and an understanding of diversity issues
· discretion
· personal integrity
· not actively participate in local or national politics
· not have had significant previous disputes with the Authority
· not have a close relationship with any member/officer of the Authority

Mae Aelodau Annibynnol yn cael tâl am bob cyfarfod/digwyddiad y maent yn ei fynychu yn unol â'r cyfraddau a osodir gan Gomisiwn Democratiaeth a Ffiniau Cymru. Ar hyn o bryd mae'r cyfraddau hynny yn £105 am hyd at bedair awr a £210 am dros bedair awr. Mae'r cyfraddau hyn yn cael eu hadolygu'n flynyddol.
Mae gwaith y Pwyllgor yn ei gwneud yn ofynnol i'r Aelodau Annibynnol feddu ar y rhinweddau a'r sgiliau canlynol:-
