Job Description
Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study right in the heart of the city. Student and Academic Services are currently seeking Programme Administrators to join their team on a permanent basis. These roles will suit experienced administrators with a keen eye for detail and experience in accurate record management.
You will support the administration of academic programmes in line with university regulations, policies, and service standards, ensuring programmes adhere to institutional strategy. You will provide high‑quality, efficient, and effective administrative support for students, handling a wide range of course administration duties and sharing responsibility for seamless delivery of student services across the School. Your portfolio will include postgraduate and undergraduate courses and modules, maintaining student records and providing services and support to students and colleagues throughout the student lifecycle from clearing to completion.
You will bring experience from a fast‑paced administrative environment, responding to queries promptly and professionally. You should demonstrate strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and maintain exceptional attention to detail. A clear commitment to delivering high‑quality service to both students and staff is essential, as is proven experience using digital systems to manage data and maintain accurate records.
Informal queries regarding the role are very welcome and should be directed to Nina Amos at nina.amos@bcu.ac.uk.
The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and to an environment that supports lawful free speech and academic freedom. We will continuously review and improve our policies, practices, and procedures to ensure that we are promoting these in all aspects of our operations. We believe that by working together, combining our many different backgrounds and life experiences, we will empower each other to reach our full potential.
