The Role
Kelso Pharma, and its subsidiary company, ALTURiX, is growing its UK team, and we are recruiting a Medical Science Liaison (MSL)/ Senior MSL (6 month contract) for the UK to join us at a genuinely exciting moment, as we prepare for an upcoming launch of a novel drug/device product which we believe will significantly improve treatment options available for patients and healthcare professionals within the home and secondary care settings, as well as brining confidence to people that care for their medical conditions. This is a field-based role covering the UK within a small, agile team where your scientific insight and ideas will influence strategy and help shape how we bring new innovation to patients. We are looking for someone with a strong medical scientific background, who thrives on scientific exchange with healthcare professionals, and enjoys working cross functionally in a fast moving environment. We're very keen to hear from candidates who also have experience of working in paediatric, homecare or chronic neurological disease areas.
Reporting to the Managing Director, (and matrix management with the Clinical Consultant) the MSL will lead the medical and scientific activities within the UK to inform and educate clinicians, support staff, and any other relevant industry groups on the company's portfolio. The MSL must also support and comply with all relevant internal and external regulations, guidelines and policies at both local and international level.
Key responsibilities:
You'll serve as a critical link between clinicians, research, and internal medical colleagues, with responsibilities including:
* Act as a scientific expert, providing high quality medical and scientific exchange with healthcare professionals.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, clinical experts, and relevant NHS stakeholders.
* Supporting ALTURiX medical data gathering initiatives, as required.
* Support upcoming launch activities, including scientific training, external engagement and evidence generation.
* Respond to unsolicited medical information requests working with the Kelso medical information provider and communicate complex scientific data clearly and compliantly.
* Represent Kelso Pharma at national and international congresses, capturing insights and sharing scientific updates.
* Develop and deliver medical education, training and disease area materials for internal and external audiences.
* Maintain deep understanding of international and local treatment pathways, existing and emerging treatments, and evolving clinical practice across the UK.
* Collaborating cross-functionally while operating autonomously in the field
* Ensuring full compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and internal policies and procedures.
Role Requirements:
Required Education
* Accredited Health Care Professional (Pharmacist) or Life Science Degree, PhD or MSc
Required Skills And Experience
* Demonstrated success and experience as an MSL. Neurology/epilepsy experience is a bonus.
* Experience supporting or leading a drug launch is highly desirable.
* Confident communicator able to tailor scientific discussions to different audiences.
Technical Competencies
* Experience in interpretation and writing of scientific information.

* Strong understanding of UK healthcare systems, pathways and market access considerations.
