We are recruiting Support Workers to join a charity supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that may challenge. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you will play a key part in creating a safe, nurturing, and positive environment. You will support young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and personal development, helping them to feel secure, valued, and empowered. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to children and young people Promote trauma-informed and inclusive care practices Support young people to develop independence, confidence, and life skills Implement agreed behaviour support strategies, including de-escalation and PBS Maintain accurate records including daily logs and incident reports Follow safeguarding procedures and raise concerns appropriately Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent care across shifts Participate in handovers, team meetings, and training What We’re Looking For Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities, autism, or behaviours that challenge A caring, patient, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and work flexibly Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities Willingness to work shifts, including sleep-ins Previous experience in a residential children’s setting is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
