Description
We are looking to hire an experienced Audit Managerto join our established and growing practice. The role is best suited to someone who is engaged, confident, and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in client relationships and business development.
While the role is pitched at Manager level, we would consider either a Manager or Senior Managerwith strong experience in auditing professional firms, provided they are not seeking progression to RI in the short to medium term.
This is a portfolio-led, assignment-based role, offering exposure to a mixed client base, with professional firms making up approximately 50% of the portfolio.
About the Team
GP 6 is our City-based audit team focussed on working with businesses in a variety of industries including but not limited to professional firms, real estate and construction, technology, retail, and media. We draw on and coordinate the expertise of specialist services from across the firmfor our clients allowing a strong environment for the development of our people.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and deliver audit engagements from planning through to completion
Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, including professional firms such as:
o Law firms
o Accountancy practices
Perform and oversee onsite manager reviews of audit work where required
Manage audit assignments rather than large permanent teams
Directly line-manage 2–3 team members, with broader interaction across a wider audit team of circa 40
Play an active role in business development, including:
o Involvement in pitches and tenders
o Identifying opportunities within existing client relationships
o Developing commercial confidence and visibility within the firm
Planning jobs to ensure audits are carried out in the most efficient way possible while considering firm-wide productivity.
Promoting the interests of the firm with all employed by the firm, clients, prospective clients and other third parties.
Motivation and encouragement of team, providing timely constructive feedback
The role would include being involved in advisory projects for professional firms such as KPI benchmarking, partner remuneration frameworks, structuring advice and presenting training courses to clients amongst other ad hoc projects
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
Operating at Audit Manager level
High level of familiarity with UK auditing and accounting standards
Background in general practice within a professional services firm
Strong experience auditing professional firms, ideally including law firms and accountancy practices
Experience managing multiple audits and deadlines concurrently
Exposure to business development activity, or a clear desire to develop further in this area
Commitment to audit quality and attention to detail
High level of personal motivation and drive, and ability to motivate and encourage others
Experience of managing SRA Accounts Rules Reviews (or similar client money audits) would be an advantage, but not mandatory
