Management Accountant
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a suitably experienced and motivated Management Accountant to join our successful team within the finance function at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. The post is a permanent post, reporting to and supporting the Senior Management Accountant and the Associate Care Group Accountant.

About us
We provide hospital services from two acute sites – Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We also have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community-based settings and patient home care. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and BAME candidates as they are currently under-represented.
Job responsibilities
You will have excellent numerical and analytical skills and possess the ability to work autonomously, achieve deadlines and prioritise your workload. Significant experience in Microsoft Excel and a good understanding of general ledger accounting software would be an advantage.

* Experience:
o Experience within a finance function.
o Experience of working within NHS finance.
* Special Skills & Knowledge:
o Ability to provide and receive complex financial information to/from financial and non-financial staff orally, in writing or electronically in a professional manner.
o Good computer skills with experience of Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word.
o Ability to input into and interrogate the Finance General Ledger to obtain standard and ad hoc reports.
o Has the ability to quickly learn new skills and tasks as and when required.
o Ability to work to all routine and ad hoc deadlines.
o Ability to identify and act to remedy circumstances that mean a deadline is at risk.
o Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
o Able to provide training, advise and review the work of more junior team members.
o Must have good analytical skills.
o Possesses basic organisational skills.
o Has an appreciation of the NHS finance regime.
o Experience of Oracle Finance Ledger system.
* Qualifications:
o Minimum of 5 GCSEs / O Levels (A* - C) including Maths and English.
o Demonstrates a track record of academic achievement or has experience of working within a finance function.
o Experience of working within an NHS finance function.
o Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
