Senior Database Administrator

WFH: Hybrid (3 office days per week)
Salary: £55,000 DOE
Location: Kendal
We’re seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join a growing engineering team responsible for delivering and supporting critical database systems for one of our partners. The successful candidate will ensure the performance, integrity, and security of multiple Oracle environments, both on-prem and in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You’ll play a key role in performance tuning, automation, and continuous improvement across mission-critical databases.
Responsibilities
1. Create, configure, and maintain Oracle Databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
2. Implement backup, recovery, and failover strategies (RMAN, Data Guard, Flashback).
3. Optimise SQL and PL/SQL queries for application performance.
4. Manage database patching, upgrades, and migrations
5. Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts, APIs, and documentation.
