The Surgical Care Group is seeking a full-time Patient Admission Pathway Co-ordinator (PAPC) to support elective surgical admissions. The ideal candidate will be organized, able to work under pressure, computer literate, and possess excellent communication skills.

The PAPC will work within the Day Surgery Unit, responsible for contacting all patients scheduled for elective surgery to ensure pre-assessment advice has been followed and attendance is confirmed. The role includes escalating concerns to the appropriate specialty that may impact surgical admissions.

Main duties of the job

The PAPC will work within the Day Surgery Unit to confirm patient admissions for elective surgery, aiming to reduce cancellations. Responsibilities include contacting patients on theatre lists, confirming attendance, and verifying adherence to pre-operative requirements.

Education/Qualifications

* Knowledge of Trust IT systems including Careflow, iFit & Bluespier
* Degree


Skills/Abilities

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience in producing and presenting reports


Experience/Knowledge

* Knowledge of NHS service provision including the patient pathway
* Proven experience working in a similar role in a hospital/healthcare setting
