Join our client, a respected NSW Government organisation that delivers essential legal and financial services to support individuals in managing their personal and financial affairs. Your work will have a meaningful impact on communities across the state. This is a part-time contract role (21 hours per week) with a potential to extend and located in Parramatta. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with two days working from home each week. As a Tax Advisory Officer, you will support the delivery of individual, estate and trust administration by providing accurate and timely financial and taxation advice. This is a key role within a specialised team supporting the financial needs of clients under state-appointed financial management. Your responsibilities will include: • Preparation of high-volume individual, trust and estate tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance with current tax legislation, and timely lodgement • Reviewing and checking notices of assessment to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies requiring follow-up action • Answering income tax queries from internal stakeholders, providing clear and practical guidance in a timely manner • Responding to ATO correspondence, including managing audits, requests for information, and other compliance-related communications • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with organisational and legislative requirements • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency within the tax administration function Key selection criteria • Tertiary qualifications in Taxation or equivalent experience • Demonstrated experience in preparing individual, trust, and deceased estate tax returns • Strong skills in financial reporting and forecasting • Knowledge of Australian tax legislation and its practical application • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with sound judgement If interested, please apply via seek.
