Head of Sales - HR Software & Services Location: Midlands (with regular travel) Salary: £80,000-£85,000 base performance-related bonus (linked to team target) The Opportunity A growing HR technology and services organisation is seeking an experienced Sales Leader to lead its Software & Services sales function. This is a hands-on player-manager role, responsible for leading a team of 7-8 sales professionals while also actively contributing to revenue growth and closing strategic opportunities. You will be accountable for delivering a £4m ARR team target, with bonus linked to overall team performance (no individual quota). The Role Team Leadership & Development Lead and manage a team of BDMs and SDRs with mixed levels of experience. Provide structured coaching and development, particularly for more junior team members. Build cohesion and accountability across a geographically dispersed team. Conduct regular pipeline reviews, forecasting and performance management. Create a high-performance but supportive sales culture. Oversee day-to-day sales activity and performance standards. Player-Manager Responsibilities Personally engage with prospective clients and key accounts. Support the team in progressing and closing complex deals. Lead high-value or strategic opportunities. Manage and contribute to RFP processes and multi-stakeholder sales cycles. Sell both HR software solutions and outsourced HR services. Drive delivery against the £4m ARR team target. Client Engagement Engage confidently with CPOs, HR Directors and senior stakeholders. Attend face-to-face client meetings regularly. Travel across the Midlands and nationally as required. Ideally bring an existing HR-sector network or book of contact. About You Essential Experience Proven experience managing and motivating B2B sales teams. Track record of delivering multi-million-pound revenue targets. Experience selling HR software, HR services, or complex B2B solutions. Comfortable managing RFP processes and complex buying journeys. Strong experience engaging senior HR stakeholders. Personal Profile Commercially driven with consultative sales style. Strong people leader who enjoys coaching and developing others. Patient, structured and resilient. Credible, professional and confident with senior clients. Comfortable working closely with senior leadership. Working Pattern Midlands-based preferred. Remote model with regular in-person team engagement (weekly/fortnightly). Travel required for client meetings. Face-to-face client interaction is essential.
